
Earthquakes Forward Alan Gordon Undergoes Successful Surgery

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that forward Alan Gordon underwent surgery to repair a torn rectus abdominis and tears in his left and right hip adductors. William Hutchinson performed the surgery in Santa Monica, Calif.
The veteran forward scored his first goal with the Earthquakes on Aug. 6 in a 1-1 tie against the Portland Timbers. Gordon headed home a cross from Steven Beitashour to equalize for San Jose in the 67th minute.
Gordon will remain at his home in Southern California for two weeks following surgery before rejoining the Earthquakes to begin the rehabilitation process.
