
Philadelphia Union to Face New York Red Bulls in Exhibition Match

Deltona, Fla. (Feb. 5, 2013) - Philadelphia Union will face 2013 Supporters Shield Champion New York Red Bulls Wednesday, Feb. 12 at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla., as part of the team's 2014 preseason trip. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. ET. Tickets are on sale at the box office at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena and online at Ticketmaster.com.
"We are excited to play for the second consecutive year at such an excellent venue in the City of Jacksonville," said Philadelphia Union Team Manager John Hackworth. "New York will be great competition for our squad and we are looking forward to an entertaining match in front of fans in Jacksonville."
Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls will hold open training sessions Tuesday, Feb. 11, the day prior to the game at the Jacksonville Jaguars. Philadelphia Union will also host a free youth clinic during the open practice at the Jacksonville Jaguars practice fields outside EverBank Stadium from 7:30-8:30 p.m., attended by members of Philadelphia Union. Registration for the clinic opens at 7 p.m.
"The city's partnership with the Philadelphia Union continues to grow and appreciate them choosing Jacksonville for their preseason training," said Mayor of Jacksonville Alvin Brown. "Jacksonville has shown its support for soccer and this will kick off a month of soccer throughout our city."
Match tickets are available starting at $15 for groups and $20 for general admission seats. Admission to the open practice session the day before the game is included with tickets to the match. For more information on group rates, call (904) 630-3600 or (904) 630-3900.
Last year, the Union faced Montreal Impact at EverBank Field during its preseason training. The match will precede the Walt Disney World(r) Pro Soccer Classic at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in which the Union will compete with Sporting Kansas City, New York Red Bulls, Montreal Impact, Columbus Crew, Toronto FC, Orlando City SC and Fluminense's U-23 team (Brazil).
