February 5, 2014 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Portland Timbers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers will unveil their new secondary and third kits as part of a special 2014 season kick-off event open to the public on Monday, March 3, at Pure Space in Portland's Pearl District, starting at 6 p.m.
In addition to the debut of the club's new secondary and alternate third jerseys, the season kick-off event will feature a full-team appearance by the Timbers and the opportunity to meet the coaches and players. It also will showcase some of the Timbers' new merchandise for the upcoming season, and provide exclusive access to purchase the new kits and merchandise.
Tickets for the event start at $40 and go on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. online at www.timbers.com. An exclusive pre-sale for Timbers season ticket holders and fans on the Season Ticket Waiting List will take place Thursday.
Proceeds from the event benefit the club's community outreach platform, Stand Together.
All 19 MLS clubs will unveil at least one new kit leading up to the opening week of the 2014 regular season. This year's theme for the league-wide, jersey-unveiling campaign is "Soccer, Made in North America," allowing clubs to share the story behind the making of their new jersey with their supporters and focusing on the art and detail that went into the collaborative process with adidas, MLS' exclusive uniform supplier.
The Timbers open the 2014 Major League Soccer campaign on Saturday, March 8, as they play host to the Philadelphia Union at JELD-WEN Field at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).
