Pettersson Recalled, Sherwood Joins Gulls

SAN DIEGO - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Marcus Pettersson from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, Anaheim has assigned right wing Kiefer Sherwood to San Diego.

Pettersson, 22 (5/8/96), has earned one assist with an even plus/minus rating in 11 games with the Ducks this season. Selected in the second round (38th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Pettersson has collected 1-4=5 points with a +5 rating in 33 career NHL games with Anaheim.

Sherwood, 23 (3/31/95) recorded 2-2=4 points with a +5 rating in 12 games with Anaheim this season. Signed as a free agent on Mar. 19, 2018, Sherwood earned his first career NHL point (assist) in his NHL debut on Oct. 3 at San Jose, and scored his first career NHL goal on Oct. 13 at Dallas. The 6-0, 194-pound forward made his professional debut with San Diego in 2017-18, scoring two goals in 11 AHL games.
