Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON) - The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) announced today that the Peterborough Petes will be playing their 2023-24 home opener on Thursday, September 28 against the Kingston Frontenacs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre (PMC).

The game will feature the Petes 2023 OHL Champions banner raising, as well as a number of other activations that will be announced in the coming months. The game will be the first time that the Petes play at the PMC since clinching the J. Ross Robertson Cup in game six of the 2023 OHL Championship Series with a 2-1 win over the London Knights.

The only way to guarantee tickets for the home opener is by purchasing a season ticket package, available only while supplies last. Season tickets start at just $339 for the entire 34 game home schedule, and include thousands of dollars in benefits and incentives.

Single game tickets for all regular season home games will go on sale beginning on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the PMC Grant Thornton Box Office. Fans looking to secure their tickets before then can do so by purchasing a Flex Pack and redeeming them in the early bird redemption period from August 11-24. Flex Pack details can be found, and can be purchased by contacting Tyler Hall.

A historic Eastern Conference rivalry, the Petes and Frontenacs faced off eight times in 2022-23 with each team picking up four wins. Over those four games, Peterborough outscored Kingston 23-19. The past five seasons, Peterborough holds a slight edge over Kingston with a record of 22-17-2-1 vs the Frontenacs. The last time the Petes hosted Kingston for their home opener was to kick off the 2018-19 season. The Petes won that game 4-0.

Official 2023 OHL Champion hats and shirts are on sale now through the Petes store.
