Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit are pleased to announce their Home Opener for the 2023-2024 season at Wendler Arena inside the Dow Event Center. On Saturday, September 30th, the Spirit will host a West Division rival in the Sarnia Sting at 7:05pm.

Spirit President and Managing Partner Craig Goslin expressed his excitement for fans to return to the Dow Event Center.

"This is going to be one of the most thrilling seasons in Spirit history," said Goslin. "September 30th will be Saginaw's first chance lay eyes on the team working to bring them a Memorial Cup. We're looking forward to showing off the updates and renovations to our already phenomenal building."

The meeting with Sarnia will be the 121st all-time between the two franchises. Saginaw carries a 60-51-5-4 record, with one tie, against the Sting during the regular season.

To begin the 2022-2023 campaign, the Spirit took a thrilling 10-6 victory over the Guelph Storm in their Home Opener. 13 different Spirit players found the score sheet that night in front of 4359 fans.

This will be the first time the Spirit welcome Sarnia as their home-opening opponent since the 2004-2005 season. Saginaw picked up a 2-1 win over the Sting on September 30th, 2004.
