Petes Select Nick Lardis Sixth Overall in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes are excited to announce that they have selected Nick Lardis in the first round, sixth overall in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore .

Lardis, a 5'10", 155 lbs forward, played for the Oakville Rangers during the 2019-20 season. The Oakville, Ontario native recorded 40 goals, 34 assists, 74 points and 12 penalty minutes in 37 games.

"Nick is a very good skater that can score goals," said Chris McNamara, Director of Scouting with the Petes. "His smart hockey IQ makes him very dangerous in the offensive zone."

"We're really excited to add Nick to the organization," said GM Michael Oke. "Not only is he a very good player, but he's a good person off the ice and has been recognized for his work as a volunteer in the Halton community."

The Petes last selected sixth overall in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection, picking Matt Puempel. Notable sixth overall picks have included Logan Brown (2014; Ottawa Senators), Robby Fabbri (2012; Detroit Red Wings), and Nick Baptiste (2011; Texas Stars).

The Petes will host an online media scrum via Zoom following the announcement of each pick.
