
Ottawa 67's Draft Four Prospects on Day One of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's welcomed four new faces on Friday during the first three rounds of the annual OHL Priority Selection Draft.
The Barber Poles landed on Cristopher Barlas (12th overall), Luca Pinelli (28th overall), Cooper Foster (32nd overall) and Bradley Gardiner (40th overall).
Below are all the details on the four players that the Ottawa 67's selected on Friday night (ROUND 1 - 3):
1st round pick - 12th Overall: Christopher Barlas (C - Navan Grads U18)
Barlas is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound center who played a monumental role for the Ottawa Jr. 67s U15 AAA during the 2019-2020 season, averaging almost two points a game with 25 goals, 26 assists for 51 points in 29 games. The Ottawa native kept his incredible offensive touch during the postseason, accumulating one goal and four assists in five playoff games. The 2019-2020 season was also the year Barlas made the jump to the Navan Grads U18, recording three points in two games. He is described as a playmaker with fantastic speed.

2nd round pick - 28th Overall: Luca Pinelli (C - Toronto JR Canadiens)
The Barber Poles selected Luca Pinelli as their first pick of the second round, 28th overall. Pinelli is a 5-foot-9, 161-pound center who played with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U15 AAA during the 2019-2020 season, recording 21 point in 31 season games. He is described as a player with a high skill set and hockey IQ, driven by an immense work ethic and competitiveness.

2nd round pick - 32nd Overall: Cooper Foster (C - Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds U18)
Cooper Foster was the third player selected by Ottawa on Friday night, 32nd overall in the second round. Cooper is 5-foot-11, 165-pound left-shot center who played his 2019-2020 season with the Soo Greyhounds U15 AAA. Copper collected 20 goals, 14 assists for 34 points in 24 regular season games, averaging over a point a game. He then continued his offensive dominance during the postseason, adding seven goals, eight assists for 15 points in only five games. Foster is described as a smart and creative player, with a great vision and has the ability to slow the pace of the game.

3rd round pick - 40th Overall: Bradley Gardiner (C - St. Andrew's College)
With their last pick of the night, 40th overall, the Barber Poles landed on Bradley Gardiner, a 6-foot-1, 174-pound center from Aurora, Ontario. Gardiner played for the York Simcoe Express U15 AAA during the 2019-2020 season, accumulating an impressive 56 points (22G and 34A) in only 40 games. Fun fact, Gardiner is the son of former Ottawa Senators and NHL alumni Bruce Gardiner.
