Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - Peterborough Petes General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke announced today that the team has reassigned forward Nathan Leek to the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).
Leek, an Alliston, ON native, was selected in the first round, 11th overall by Peterborough in the 2023 OHL U18 Priority Selection. This season, Leek featured in three regular season games for the Petes, as well as three preseason games. In 2022-23, the 6'01", 2005-born forward played in 35 games for the Barrie Colts, leading the OMHAU18 league in scoring with 30 goals and 34 assists for 64 points. Leek also featured in five games for the OJHL's St. Michael's Buzzers, recording an assist.
"Playing in Whitecourt will provide Nathan with regular playing time to continue his development," noted Oke. "We'll continue to monitor his progress throughout the season."
The Petes are back in action on Friday, October 27 when they travel to St. Catharines to take on the Niagara IceDogs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Meridian Centre. Fans can catch the game on YourTV, Freq 90.5, and OHL Live.
