Petes Make Trade for Overage Defenceman

The Peterborough Petes announced today that General Manager David Reid has completed a trade with the Kitchener Rangers to acquire 20 year old defenceman Jonathan Jasper in exchange for Owen Sounds 4th round draft pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.

The 6'3", 215lbs, native of Williamstown, ON is playing in his 4th and final season in the OHL where he has recorded 4 goals and 31points in 157 games with a +3 plus/minus rating. To date this season Jonathan has recorded 1 goal and 3 points with a +1 rating in 13 games with the Rangers.

"The Peterborough Petes are pleased to add Jonathan to our lineup at a time when we have lost two defenceman to long term injuries" says Petes General Manager David Reid. "Jonathan brings experience, a winning attitude and a veteran presence to our young team. Jonathan has been playing a lot of minutes with Kitchener and is capable of playing in all situations."
