Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that forward Daniel Catenacci has been named to teams Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 6th, 2011. Catenacci, a Newmarket, ON. native notched a hat trick on Sunday afternoon in a 5-3 victory over the Kingston Frontenacs. Catenacci is in his first season with the Attack after coming over from the Soo Greyhounds in the off season and currently sits 10th among OHL scorers with 11 goals and 14 assists in 21 games played.

The Attack also made a roster move this weekend, waiving overage forward Brett Appio. In 7 games this season, the Bolton, ON. native tallied one goal and one assist to go along with 26 penalty minutes, however; he became the odd man out with the return of overage goaltender Scott Stajcer. Appio was acquired in the off season from the Erie Otters in exchange for a conditional 10th round draft pick.

"Brett is a quality person and the entire Attack organization wishes him nothing but the best." Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. "The return of Scott left us trying to find ice time for four overage players and that wasn't an ideal situation for any of them. We are going to work with Brett in trying to find him a place to resume his hockey career."

The Attack is back in action at home this Friday and Saturday night when they play host to the high flying Sarnia Sting and familiar foes, the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. Tickets for both games are available at the Attack Box Office, by calling (519) 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com .
