Petes Finish First Half with Win over First Place 67's

(Peterborough, ON) - Recently acquired rearguard Ryan Merkley recorded three assists in his Petes debut on Sunday afternoon as Peterborough wrapped up the first half of the season with a 6-3 win over the visiting Ottawa 67's.

Liam Kirk and Adam Timleck each scored twice. Cameron Butler and Nick Robertson had single tallies.

John Parker-Jones and Brady Hinz assisted on two goals each, while Timleck and Max Grondin each had single helpers.

Hunter Jones turned away 33 of 36 shots. The Petes were 2/5 on the power play and killed all 7 penalties.

The Petes head into the holiday break in third in the East Division and fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 19-14-0-0 record.

The Petes return to action on Friday, December 28 when they visit the Kingston Frontenacs at 7:00pm. Their first home game after the holiday break is on Saturday, December 29 when they host the Mississauga Steelheads at 7:05pm.
