Peterson's Milestone Highlights Comeback, 13-6

ALTOONA, PA - The Binghamton Mets overcame a five-run deficit, scored a dozen unanswered runs, and rode Brock Peterson's 200th professional home run to a 13-6 victory over the Altoona Curve on Tuesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. TJ Rivera launched a pair of homers and fell a triple shy of the cycle while Gavin Cecchini registered his sixth four-hit game of the season.

After the Curve hung four runs on Seth Lugo in the fifth and extended their lead to 6-1, the B-Mets started their largest comeback win of the season with three runs in the sixth off Jason Creasy. Rivera cut the deficit to one with an RBI double in the seventh.

Two batters later, Peterson belted the first pitch he saw from Jason Creasy into the left-field bleachers. His ninth homer as a B-Mets and first since July 29 capped Binghamton's second straight three-run inning and put the visitors ahead for good.

The B-Mets kicked into overdrive by adding another run in the eighth and five in the ninth. Rivera's second homer of the game and a two-run single by Cecchini highlighted the inning.

Three Binghamton relievers combined for four scoreless innings of relief. Adam Kolarek (2-1) worked a blank sixth and earned his first victory since April 29. Beck Wheeler tossed a perfect seventh and Jon Velasquez close the game with two scoreless innings for his 16th save.

Binghamton was forced to play catch up after Altoona hung six runs on Seth Lugo across five innings. Jose Osuna led the charge, highlighting the Curve's four-run fifth by blasting a three-run homer.

The B-Mets jumped on Creasy (8-7) after failing to scratch out any runs against Major League rehabber Rob Scahill. The Pirates reliever tossed three scoreless innings after allowing back-to-back singles to open the game.

The B-Mets (63-51) continue their three-game series against the Curve on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. RHP Robert Gsellman faces RHP Chad Kuhl. The Horizons Federal Credit ion Pregame Show can be heard starting at 6:45 PM on Newsradio 1290 WNBF and the Binghamton Mets channel on TuneIn.

POSTGAME NOTES: TJ Rivera registered his first career multi-homer game and fourth by a B-Met this season...it was the second time this season two B-Mets have collected four hits in the same game (LJ Mazzilli & Brandon Nimmo, 6/20 @ New Hampshire)...the B-Mets bullpen has tossed 11.1 consecutive scoreless innings in the last three games
