Bowie, Md. - The Baysox (66-49) got all the runs they needed in a five-run sixth inning to beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-1 Tuesday for a fourth consecutive win. The victory moves the Baysox to a new season-high 17 games above .500 on the season.

The game started as a pitcher's duel and remained scoreless until the sixth inning when Richmond got on the board against Baysox starter Chris Lee. Myles Schroder led off with a single and was driven home by a double from Austin Slater to give the Flying Squirrels a 1-0 lead.

But the Baysox were able to battle back and take the lead in the bottom of the sixth against Richmond starter Matt Gage. Drew Dosch led off with a single and Glynn Davis followed with a walk, and they each advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Derrik Gibson. Gage walked Trey Mancini intentionally to load the bases, but Brandon Snyder took advantage and hit an RBI single on the first pitch thrown to him. Quincy Latimore then singled to drive in another run before reliever Braulio Lara replaced Gage on the mound. Mike Yastrzemski followed with a double to plate two runs and David Freitas finished things off with an infield single that brought home Latimore and put the Baysox up 5-1.

Every run of the game was scored in the sixth inning, setting up Lee's second win of the season after a one run performance over six innings. Lee allowed four hits, one walk and struck out two. Gage took the loss with all five runs credited to him, but he still managed to record eight strikeouts over 5.1 innings. Jon Keller, who was making his Double-A debut, pitched a scoreless inning along with Ashur Tolliver and Andrew Triggs to close out the game and give Bowie the win.

Bowie looks to take the series tomorrow in the third game of a four game set at 7:05 p.m. with Gene Escat (1-3, 2.84) on the mound. Wednesday is Military Hereos Appreciation Night as also Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW) starting at 7:05 p.m.
