LAST GAME: The B-Mets won the final game of their homestand, beating Trenton, 4-2, Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets scored the final four runs of the game, including a three-run fourth inning, en route to the comeback victory. Tyler Pill has won each of his first two B-Met starts after allowing two runs and three hits in 5.2 innings. The B-Mets allowed one hit after the third inning.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Seth Lugo is making his 19th start with Binghamton and second against Altoona. He is coming off a spot start with Las Vegas (AAA), where he allowed two earned runs in five innings against Salt Lake for the victory. Lugo matched a season-high by allowing six earned runs in his last B-Met start, but has won five of his last six starts. He allowed three runs in six innings at People's Natural Gas Field in his first go-round, earning a no-decision.
ALTOONA STARTER: RHP Jason Creasy is making his 22nd appearance with Altoona and 21st start. He won his first start against Binghamton, holding them to one run and four hits in six innings at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Creasy has lost each of his last four starts, and last five decisions overall. The righty is in search of his first win since June 21st. He allowed two runs in six innings in New Britain in his latest outing. He has a 8.58 ERA in his last six outings.
VS. ALTOONA: The B-Mets will play seven of their last 29 games against Altoona. This is their last visit to Peoples Natural Gas Field. Binghamton won one of three games in their first visit, getting outscored 18-10. Binghamton hit .194 in the series, compared to Altoona batting .300.
JARED IS KING: Jared King has driven in 15 runs over his last 17 games, going 6-for-11 when batting with runners in scoring position during that time. He has hit eighth or ninth in all 17 games. King has hit safely in five straight games, going 7-for-14 with a home run and seven RBI. He has driven in a run in four his last five games.
DEFENSE WINS?: These two teams have committed the most errors in the league, while combining to go 122-104 this year. Binghamton's 112 errors are only best by Altoona's 137. Altoona has committed 16 errors in their last 10 games. Binghamton has committed 35 in their last 31.
WELCOME BACK: TJ Rivera has recorded multiple hits in three of his seven games since returning from Las Vegas (AAA). Overall, Rivera is batting .325 in 30 games with the B-Mets and .313 in 84 games in 2015 in total. He's a
career .316 batter.
FRESH START: Vince Belnome is 9-for-25 with five RBI in this first seven starts with the B-Mets. He has recorded a hit in six of the seven games, including multiple in three.
EQUALING OUT: LJ Mazzilli is batting .155 (10-for-61) in his 15 games since going 4-for-4 against Trenton on July 23rd. He has three hits in his last 24 at-bats.
K-ROD: Josh Rodriguez is hitless in last 12 at-bats, with seven of them ending in strikeout. He suffered through the 19th three-strikeout game by a B-Met in Saturday's loss.
2 FOR 1: Gavin Cecchini has eight multiple hit games in his last 13, including Sunday.
IT'S BEEN A WHILE: Binghamton is coming off their first series loss in their last nine played, dropping two of three to Trenton. Binghamton is 6-1-2 over the nine series.
NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets continue their series with Altoona Wednesday at 7:05 PM. RHP Robert Gsellman starts for Binghamton against RHP Chad Kuhl.
