Kingston Frontenacs host Peterborough Petes at Kingston Memorial Centre. Tony Rizzi was back in the lineup after suffering a wrist injury September 26th. Peterborough 3 - Kingston 2 Final.
Peterborough's Daniel Ryder opened the scoring near the halfway mark of the first period. Kingston stayed out of the penalty box during the first 22-minutes and 52-seconds of the game.
In the second period, Bolt and Flowers drop the gloves 2:52 in. The Frontenacs tied the game as Radek Smolenak (1) scored his first OHL regular season goal assisted by Bobby Hughes and Ryan Stephenson just past 11-minutes in the period. About one minute later Suda and Stewart (Greg) are handed fighting majors. Peterborough replied with 3:31 remaining on a shorthanded goal from Liam Reddox, his first of the night.
Anthony Stewart (2) makes a commanding presence and scores unassisted at 1:49 of the third period. 6:41 remaining in the game, Liam Reddox scores his second of the night and the game winner.
Final score Petes 3, Frontenacs 2.
Matthew Spezza in his first OHL start faced 31 shots. Fronts starting goalie Dayne Davis was dressed but did not see action. Kingston outshot Peterborough 42 - 31.
Frontenacs' Anthony Stewart was selected the 2nd Star of the Game.
Not dressed for Kingston were Dan Dempsey and Chris Stewart.
Kingston Frontenacs next action is tomorrow night at Peterborough Memorial Centre 7:00PM. Frontenacs are on the road next weekend facing Windsor, Saginaw, and Plymouth. Kingston's next home game is Friday, October 22nd to host Plymouth at Kingston Memorial Centre 7:30PM.
