Kingston Frontenacs and Peterborugh Petes wrap their 2-game mini series at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Peterborough will be gunning for their 6th straight win while the Frontenacs are looking for their first win of the regular season.

Kingston opens the scoring at 4:26 into the game; import draft pick Radek Smolenak (2) scores on the power play assisted by Kylie Raftis and Derek Lyons. Peterborough goes on their 2nd PP opportunity at 6:13, with a 2-man advantage. Petes' Greg Stewart jams it in tying the game at 7:20 on a goal against rookie Matthew Spezza who has his 2nd consecutive start in net. Fronts' Anthony Stewart (3) muscles in for a 2 - 1 lead assisted by Evan Kotsopoulos and Bobby Hughes at 13:06. At 15:51 a Kingston shorthanded goal by rookie Cory Emmerton (2) assisted by Bobby Hughes. Kingston leads the game 3 - 1.

Rookie Matt Spezza makes some impressive saves early in the 2nd period to hold the Kingston lead. 4:41, Kingston native Todd Griffith (3) scores; Evan Kotsopoulos his second assist of the night and Anthony Stewart for his 2nd point of the night. Frontenacs lead Peterborough 4 -1. Anthony Stewart wins a Peterborough end face-off at 13:28, passes off to Evan Kotsopoulos (2) who rips one in for a 5 - 1 Kingston lead, Stewart assisting for his 3rd point on the night and Kotsopolous also his 3rd. Petes goalie Jeff MacDougald replaces Eero Kilpelainen who faced 27 shots. 16:06 Cory Emmerton (3) bangs in his 2nd of the game assisted by Bobby Bolt and Trevor Waddell. 29-seconds later Frontenacs' Tony Rizzi (2) returning to the lineup from a wrist injury scores from the wing assisted by Bobby Hughes for his 3rd point of the game and takes a commanding 7 - 1 lead, 4 unanswered goals, and lead 31 - 25 shots over 40 minutes of play.

Early in the 3rd, Matthew Spezza is rocked by a hard shot but shakes it off and stays in the game. Peterborough gets back on the scoreboard at 5:14 on the power play by Petes captain Jamie Tardif trimming the Frontenacs lead to 5 goals for the final score Kingston 7, Peterborough 2.

Matthew Spezza is in net for the Frontenacs in his 2nd consecutive start. Dayne Davis rests for the game. Shots on goal 31 to 27 in favour of Kingston.

Kingston Frontenacs road swing continues into next weekend facing Windsor, Saginaw, and Plymouth. Kingston's next home game is Friday, October 22nd to host Plymouth at Kingston Memorial Centre 7:30PM.
