New York Boulders News Release

(Ramapo, NY) - While many kids consider dogs and cats great pets, Boulder Bird thinks his pet rock is better than all the rest. Because he loves his pet rock so much, Boulder Bird along with Tilcon, an integrated construction materials supplier located in Rockland County, have decided to adopt out pet rocks to the first 1,500 fans on Monday, July 30 at 6 pm at Provident Bank Park, before the Boulders take on the Newark Bears at 7 pm.

These adorable Tilcon rocks belong to an award-winning pedigree including several who have won merits from the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. To make sure the rocks transition from quarry life to domestic living, Tilcon and the Rockland Boulders are providing new rock owners a crate to house their new rocks as well as a leash to insure their new family member does not roll away when taken for a walk.

"Boulder Bird loves his pet rock, Rocky," said Dana Fjermestad, Marketing and Promotions Manager for the Rockland Boulders. "He is excited to help Rocky's brothers and sisters find safe and loving homes. Tilcon is a great company that has achieved national recognition for its excellence in the areas of quarry beautification, community relations, safety, and environmental compliance, making their locations perfect places for these young pet rocks to grow-up.

"We have built relations with our local residents, schools, fire and police services, universities and other local businesses," said William Poole, Vice President, Tilcon New York Inc. "We are also very proud to be a sponsor of the Rockland Boulders' Pet Rock Program as we bring family, friends and community together."

Because of the popularity of these adorable and limited pet rocks, Boulder fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance by calling 845-364-0009 or sliding to rocklandboulders.com. Don't miss out! Get your pick of the quarry while supplies last!
