Perea Scores Brace; Union Advance To Quarterfinals

CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union played Alianza F.C. in the second leg of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday evening at Subaru Park, winning 4-0. Alianza F.C. went down to 10 men in the 41st minute when Alexis Montes received his second yellow of the match. Defender Damion Lowe then opened the scoring for the Union in the 45th minute from a Kai Wagner corner kick. Midfielder Daniel Gazdag scored from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute to double the lead and Andrés Perea sealed the victory with a late brace, scoring in the 81st and 84th minute. With the win, the Union advance to the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinals, which will take place in April against the winner of the Round of 16 matchup between C.D. Olimpia and Atlas F.C.

The Union return to MLS play on Saturday, March 18, where they will face CF Montréal at Montréal Olympic Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET / Apple TV).
