
Perdomo, BlueClaws End Intimidators Season with a Loss

LAKEWOOD, NJ - In a 2-2 tie ballgame in the bottom of the seventh inning, Carlos Perdomo hit an RBI-single with two outs to score Anthony Hewitt and give the Lakewood BlueClaws a 3-2 lead, which they retained, in the final game of the 2010 season against the Kannapolis Intimidators.
Justin Collop (9-12) started the game and went seven innings in the ballgame striking out seven and allowing three runs. He allowed a home run by Kyle Lafrenz in the third, the first of his career, a sacrifice fly in the sixth to score Brian Gump and the single to Perdomo in his outing.
The Intimidators (34-36) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Ryan Lee walked and stole second before Tyler Saladino singled him home and they extended the lead to two as John Spatola tripled with one down in the second and Juan Silverio singled him home as the next hitter.
Matt Bolsenbroek started for the BlueClaws (42-27) and he went four innings allowing two runs and Ebelin Lugo went two scoreless, Kyle Carr (1-0) the same and Mike McGuire recorded his sixth save of his season with a clean ninth.
The Intimidators finish 34-36 in the second half and 65-74 on the season which lasted 139 games. The finished out of playoff contention as the BlueClaws and the Hickory Crawdads will on Wednesday for the championship of the Northern Division. The Savannah Sand Gnats will take on the Greenville Drive to provide a champion of the South Atlantic League Southern Division.
The Intimidators will open the 2011 season in Lakewood on April 8th and play their first home game at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium on Friday, April 15th next year. The full schedule is available on www.IntimidatorsBaseball.com and a full season recap for 2010 will be available in the coming days.
