
Grote Transferred to Trenton

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Monday that RiverDogs outfielder Taylor Grote has been transferred to the Double-A Trenton Thunder.
Grote opened the 2010 season with the RiverDogs, appearing in 19 games before being placed on the DL on April 29. The Woodlands, Tex. native was activated and rejoined the team on Aug. 25, appearing in 28 games total with the club this season, including 20 starts in right field and eight as DH. The 21-year-old is currently batting .278, with 11 runs, seven doubles, two home runs and nine RBI.
Grote saw time with the RiverDogs in 2009, appearing in 113 games. Through the 2009 campaign, the 6'2" outfielder posted a .232 batting average, with 54 runs, 22 doubles, four home runs and 42 RBI.
