Pensacola's Later Fined, Suspended Three Games

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Thursday that Pensacola defenseman Steven Later has been fined an undisclosed amount and suspended three games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #449 at Charlotte on Jan. 17.

At 15:30 of the third period, Later was assessed a game misconduct under Rule 73(a) - Obscene Gestures. It is the second time that Later has been disciplined by the League because of Obscene Gestures.

"Mr. Later's actions are unacceptable and do not represent the professional standards expected from ECHL players," said ECHL Vice President of Hockey Operations Rod Pasma.

Later is suspended three games under Rule 33A Supplemental Discipline.

Later will miss Pensacola's game at Florida (Jan. 20), vs. Gwinnett (Jan. 21) and vs. Greenville (Jan. 27).
