Fri., Dec. 19 - PENGUINS 2 vs. Albany 4
The Devils went 3-for-4 on the power play in skating to a 4-2 win over the Penguins. Conor Sheary and Derrick Pouliot each found the back of the net for W-B/Scranton in the loss.
Sat., Dec. 20 - Penguins 3 at BINGHAMTON 0
Jeff Zatkoff made 35 saves to help lead W-B/Scranton to a 3-0 shutout win over Binghamton. Alex Boak, Nick Drazenovic and Conor Sheary all scored in a span of 5:08 in the first period to help the Penguins build the early lead.
The Week Ahead
Fri., Dec. 26 - Penguins at BINGHAMTON
Binghamton (12-13-2-1) has dropped four straight and now stands in fourth place in the East Division. W-B/Scranton has won all three meetings versus the Senators this season.
Sat., Dec. 27 - PENGUINS vs. Bridgeport
The Sound Tigers (13-11-3-1) have dropped into fifth in the Northeast with just one win in their last five games. Ryan Pulock ranks first in the AHL with nine power play goals and is tied for first among defenseman with 11 goals.
Sun., Dec. 28 - PENGUINS vs. Norfolk
With a record of 12-17-0-0, the Admirals are in fifth place in the East Division. Norfolk is tied for third in the American Hockey League with five shorthanded goals on the year.
Wed., Dec. 31 - PENGUINS vs. Hershey
The Bears (14-11-3-1) sit in second in the East Division, five points behind the Penguins. Hershey has scored first an AHL- leading 20 times (12-6-2-0). The Bears' penalty kill also ranks first in the league at 88.1% (111-for-126).
Ice Chips
- Jeff Zatkoff recorded his second shutout of the season on Saturday in Binghamton (35 saves). Zatkoff has won his last five starts, while letting up just six goals.
- Zatkoff has allowed two goals or less in 12 of his 16 starts this season and ranks third in the AHL with a 1.77 goals against average.
- The Penguins have the top-ranked defense in the league, allowing only 2.13 goals per game.
- Jean-Sebastien Dea is tied for second among rookies in power play goals (5) and power play points (11).
- With his goal on Saturday in Binghamton, Nick Drazenovic collected his 300th point as a pro.
- W-B/Scranton is 13-0-0-0 when scoring three or more goals.
