Syracuse Crunch News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch and Burdick BMW announced Sutter Donegan (Cicero-North Syracuse) and Joe Glamos (Baldwinsville) as the Burdick BMW High School Hockey Athletes of the Month for November.
Each month during the 2014-15 Section III season the Crunch and a panel of coaches will select two Syracuse-area student athletes as the 'Burdick BMW High School Hockey Athletes of the Month.'
"We are excited to be part of the Crunch High School Hockey Athlete of the Month program. In our business we are constantly recognizing our top performers," said Burdick President and General Manager Kelly Pelcher. "Recognition is a great way to motivate and acknowledge a job well done. We love the idea of the Crunch recognizing local high school players. We hope that the recognition will inspire the athletes to reach their highest performance levels as a high school hockey athlete."
The two November athletes competed against one another in the very first game played in the Carrier Dome, leading up to the historic Toyota Frozen Dome Classic.
Sutter Donegan, a sophomore at C-NS, scored the game-winning overtime goal in the Carrier Dome just 44 seconds into the extra frame. He will be recognized prior to the Crunch's December 26 game against the Albany Devils.
"In the arena that is famous for number 44 how fitting that C-NS's number 4, in period 4 scores 44 seconds into OT," said C-NS Head Coach Kyle Bailey. "Congratulations to the Crunch on a historic night and congratulations Sutter Donegan on winning the November Burdick BMW High School Hockey player of the month."
Joe Glamos, a sophomore at Baldwinsville, scored both the Bees' goals in the 3-2 overtime loss to C-NS in the Carrier Dome.
"Joe is an extremely talented player who excels in all phases of the game," said Baldwinsville Head Coach Mark Lloyd. "Everyone notices his offensive abilities but he is equally adept in all three zones. This is his first year with the high school team and he has had an immediate impact for us. We feel very fortunate to have him."
