
Penguins Sign Parent to PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today announced that they have signed defenseman Ryan Parent to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Parent, 28, played in 22 games this season for the St. John's IceCaps, notching two assists and 16 penalty minutes. Prior to signing a PTO with St. John's on Dec. 28, 2014, the native of Prince Albert, Saskatoon appeared in six contests with the Ontario Reign on the ECHL, where picked up one assist.
A first-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2005, Parent has played in 106 NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks as well as 239 AHL games with the Milwaukee Admirals, Philadelphia Phantoms, Manitoba Moose, Chicago Wolves, Norfolk Admirals and St. John's IceCaps.
Parent has also skated in 27 Stanley Cup playoff games with Philadelphia and 10 AHL postseason contests with Chicago and Norfolk.
