Penguins Release Severyn from PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released forward C.J. Severyn from his professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Signed to a PTO by the Penguins on Dec. 2, Severyn appeared in four games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording four penalty minutes. A third-year pro and native of Beaver, Pa., Severyn had posted six goals, 11 assists and 66 penalty minutes in 19 games this season with the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears. He was a seventh-round pick (186th overall) in 2007 by the Calgary Flames and played for four seasons at Ohio State University.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins head to Adirondack to face the Phantoms on Friday, Jan. 10 at 7:00 p.m. Tune into all of the live action on the Sports Hub 102 or AHL Live.
