Falcons St. Denis, Goloubef Selected to 2014 AHL All-Star Classic Roster

Springfield, Mass. - The American Hockey League announced Thursday afternoon the roster for the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic to take place in mid-February, and Springfield Falcons defensemen Frederic St. Denis and Cody Goloubef were both selected to participate.

St. Denis leads all Springfield defensemen and ranks seventh among all AHL defensemen with 21 points through 34 games this season. The Greenfield Park, Quebec native also ranks third among all AHL defensemen with eight goals and leads the Falcons with a +12 rating.

Goloubef, who has spent the majority of the season paired with St. Denis on the blue line, has posted 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) and a +7 rating. The University of Wisconsin product is tied for the top spot among all AHL defensemen with two shootout goals and one shootout game-winner this season.

This is the second selection for St. Denis, who recorded an assist in the 2012 All-Star Classic in Atlantic City as a member of the Hamilton Bulldogs. For Goloubef, the selection is his first.

The All-Star team, consisting of 20 total players and six defensemen, will participate in a skills competition Tuesday, February 11 and the All-Star Game Wednesday, February 12 versus Farjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League. All of the events will take place at Mile One Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland.
