Sun., Jan. 5

STJ 3 vs POR 1

JC Lipon set up two goals and Eddie Pasquale made 30 saves to help St. John's capture the victory over the Portland Pirates Sunday afternoon at Mile One Centre. Adam Lowry, Brenden Kichton, and Jerome Samson had the goals for the IceCaps, who took the first of the three-game series against the Pirates.

Mon., Jan. 6

POR 5 vs STJ 4

Despite rallying to within a goal in the third period, the IceCaps couldn't complete the comeback against the Pirates, who held on Monday night at Mile One Centre. Louis Domingue led the way for Portland with 30 saves, while Tobias Rieder had a goal and an assist.

Eddie Pasquale was strong between the pipes for St. John's, turning aside 21-of-24 shots in relief of Jussi Olkinuora in taking the loss. Kael Mouillierat had a goal and an assist for St. John's, with JC Lipon, Will O'Neill, and John Albert also scoring for the home side.

Tues., Jan. 7 STJ 4 vs POR 2

Led by a two-goal performance from Carl Klingberg and stalwart goaltending from Eddie Pasquale, the IceCaps defeated the Pirates Tuesday night at Mile One Centre. Pasquale stopped 28-of-30 shots to earn the victory, including two at point-blank range to prevent the Pirates from tying it up in the final moments. Ben Chiarot and Andrew Gordon picked up the other tallies for the IceCaps, who took two-of- three from Portland with the win. John Albert and Jason Jaffray added two assists for St. John's.

Lucky '13: Eric O'Dell of the IceCaps led all American Hockey League skaters in regular-season scoring during 2013, tallying 75 points (36 goals, 39 assists) in 70 games. Matt Fraser led the league with 37 goals between Texas and Providence.

Festival Time: The IceCaps and Jungle Jim's restaurants have teamed to host Jungle Jim's IceCaps Minor Hockey Festivals throughout the province this winter.

Six hundred festival passes (120 at each location) will be awarded through a contest at Jungle Jim's restaurants.
