WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced a transaction, which takes effect immediately. Pittsburgh has reassigned goaltender John Muse to the Nailers.

Muse, 30, is coming off of an outstanding season in the Philadelphia Flyers organization, as he split the year between the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms and the ECHL's Reading Royals. John backstopped 30 victories between the two levels, going 19-5-2 with the Royals and 11-2-1 with the Phantoms. The East Falmouth, Massachusetts native is playing in his eighth professional season, which has featured lots of success. As a rookie in 2011-12, Muse led the Florida Everblades to their first Kelly Cup Championship, posting a sparkling 11-2 mark in the playoffs. In his career, John is 46-21-12 in the ECHL, with a 2.72 goals against average, a .914 save percentage, and four shutouts. Prior to turning pro, Muse attended Boston College, where he won two National Championships.

John Muse and the Wheeling Nailers will travel to Reading for a two-game series with the Royals this weekend on Saturday at 7:00 and Sunday at 4:00. Wheeling will then play its first home game on November 3rd against the Indy Fuel, featuring a pregame concert by Logan Wojcik, the induction of the Wheeling Hockey Hall of Fame's Class of 2018, and the debut of the team's new alternate jersey. The Wheeling Nailers, considered one of the top things to do in Wheeling, West Virginia, provide affordable family entertainment for fans throughout the Ohio Valley.
