D David Drake Returned on Loan to Reading from Lehigh Valley

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced Tuesday defenseman David Drake has been returned on loan to the Royals from Lehigh Valley. A 23-year-old rookie from Naperville, IL, Drake has played in one game with Lehigh Valley this season. He stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 195 pounds.

After completing his collegiate career at the University of Connecticut, Drake signed an amateur tryout contract with the Phantoms and registered two assists in seven games. He signed an AHL deal with the Phantoms in June 2018. Over four seasons at UConn, Drake scored four goals and 25 points in 124 games. He served as an alternate captain his junior and senior seasons.

The Flyers drafted Drake in the seventh round (192nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
