ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fines and suspensions.

Norfolk's Maggio fined, suspended

Norfolk's Daniel Maggio has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #44, Norfolk at Florida, on Oct. 20.

Maggio was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #11:26 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Maggio will miss Norfolk's games vs. South Carolina on Oct. 24 and Oct. 26.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Orlando's Fournier fined, suspended

Orlando's Stefan Fournier has been suspended for five games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #43, Orlando at Atlanta, on Oct. 20.

Fournier was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct boarding under Rule #41.5 at 13:49 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Fournier will miss Orlando's games vs. Florida (Oct. 26), at Florida (Oct. 27), at Greenville (Nov. 2 and Nov. 3) and vs. Jacksonville (Nov. 6).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
