
Penguins Reassign Connor James And Alex Goligoski To Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Connor James and defenseman Alex Goligoski to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, it was announced today by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero. Both players were recalled to Pittsburgh on emergency basis February 29th.
James has played eight games over four stints with Pittsburgh this season. He was recalled on February 26th vs. the New York Islanders and recorded his first NHL goal. He made his Penguins debut on December 15th vs. the New York Islanders during his first recall to Pittsburgh. James has registered 31 points (eight goals, 23 assists) in 50 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. He is currently tied for third on the team in assists (23)
James was originally signed by the Penguins as a free agent on August 9th, 2006. He made his NHL debut during the 2005-06 season playing two games with the Los Angeles Kings.
Goligoski has played three games in two stints with Pittsburgh this season. He recorded his first NHL point, an assist, on March 2nd vs. Ottawa. Goligoski then recorded an assist the following day vs. Atlanta. He was originally recalled on February 5th, making his NHL debut on February 13th vs. Boston. Goligoski currently leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defensemen with seven goals and is tied for the lead among defensemen with 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists). He ranks tied for second on the club with six power play goals.
Goligoski was originally selected by the Penguins in the second round (61st overall) in the 2004 NHL Draft.
