Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the American Cancer Society are teaming up for the third consecutive season to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer during the month of October.

The American Cancer Society and the Pens will be giving away pink pom-poms to fans during this Saturday night's game against the Philadelphia Phantoms. Simply stop by the ACS information tables in sections 102 or 114 to pick up yours. Pom-poms will be given away on a first come, first served basis. ACS representatives will also be on hand during the contest against the Phantoms, distributing information on how to help combat the deadly disease. All fans are also encouraged to wear pink to the game.

Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to get 'Pinked' during the October game. Stylists from the Sanderson State Street salon will be on the concourse offering temporary pink hair streaks for a $5 donation. The 'Pinked' program, introduced last season, is held in memory of Chris Sender, an employee at the salon who passed away from the breast cancer. All money donated will go back to the ACS' fight against the disease.

Sanderson State Street, located in Clarks Summit, will also be offering more permanent pink streaks at the salon during the month of October for a $15 donation to the ACS. Any fan 'Pinked' at the game will receive a $5 off coupon for the longer lasting streak at the salon.

Good seats for Saturday night's game against the Phantoms are available through all local TicketMaster outlets, by phone at 570-693-4100 and on-line at www.ticketmaster.com. The first 5,000 fans arriving at the Wachovia Arena will receive a free 'Making Memories' Penguins Calendar, courtesy of L. T. Verrastro and Molson.

Group and Season Ticket packages for the Penguins 10th season are on sale through the Penguins Ticket Offices at 570-208-7367.
