Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs open their 13th season in the American Hockey League at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba against the Manitoba Moose tonight at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The match up between the Canadian-based rivals will be broadcast live on TALK 820 (820 CHAM) and www.hamiltonbulldogs.com. A 30 minute pre-game show beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time with Play-By-Play announcer Derek Wills, will kick-off the season for the 'Dogs.

All regular season and post-season Bulldogs games can be heard live on the club's flagship radio station, TALK 820. Wills, the AHL's James H. Ellery Memorial Award winner in the radio category in 2004-2005, will return for his eighth season as the 'Voice of the Hamilton Bulldogs' and will call all 80 regular season contests and all Calder Cup Playoff games. Since joining the organization in 2001-2002, Wills has called 634 consecutive regular and post-season 'Dogs games, including the AHL's conference finals three times and the Calder Cup Finals twice. Popular Hamilton sportscaster Al Craig, who was the Bulldogs' Play-By-Play Announcer during their first two seasons in Hamilton, will return for his seventh full season as Colour Commentator for all home games and select road games.

Tonight's game will be the first of back-to-back games between the 'Dogs and Moose with game two taking place tomorrow evening at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The two teams will meet each other a total of eight times this season but will not play again until the new year when Manitoba travels to Hamilton on January 21, 2009.

Last year, Hamilton and Manitoba split the season series with each club earning four wins. The Bulldogs hold an all-time record of 37 wins, 21 losses/overtime losses, and 2 ties/shootout losses over their North Division foes.

The 'Dogs 2008-2009 home opener will take place Friday, October 17th, at 7:30 p.m. when they will battle the Hartford Wolf Pack at Copps Coliseum. 2008-2009 Hamilton Bulldogs single-game and season tickets are now available!
