The Pensacola Pelicans along with Gulf States Recycling are pleased to announce their recycling partnership for the 2008 season. The Pelicans are working in conjunction with Gulf States Recycling to implement recycling procedures for fans who attend Pelican home games this season.

At every home game, fans are encouraged to use the twenty recycling bins placed conveniently around the park. Along with recycling bins around the park, United States Marine volunteers will walk through the crowd twice a game to pick up any plastic or aluminum bottles that fans may have to recycle.

"We are extremely excited to work with Gulf States and help keep Pelican Park and our community clean," said Pelicans General Manager Talmadge Nunnari. "We encourage all our fans to participate and help make a difference."

At every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday home games, fans are encouraged to bring a minimum of two brown paper grocery bags full of newspaper. In return, fans who participate will receive a free hot dog and soda at the game as well as entered to win a $50 gift certificate to the Pelicans gift shop courtesy of Gulf States Recycling.

The Pelicans return home next Monday, May 19 for a weeklong home stand. Promotions include Mutt Monday, Navy League Night, Autism Awareness Night, Camo Visor and T-shirt giveaway and a post-game fireworks display on Sunday, May 25.
