Lincoln 2B Eduardo Rios had a big day at the plate going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a run batted in, including his first home run of the year, in leading the Saltdogs to a big victory over the Fort Worth Cats. With the victory, Lincoln snapped their three game losing streak. LF Luis Perez and 3B Ben Tinius each had 2-for-4 days at the dish with two RBI for the Saltdogs. Lincoln starter Brian Campbell evened his record at 1-1 with the win going 6 1/3 innings allowing three earned runs on six hits with a strikeout. Saltdogs reliever Nate Staggs gave up a two-run home run to Cats 1B John Allen in the ninth inning but held on to notch his first save of the year. Allen was 3-for-4 on the day with two runs scored and two RBI for Fort Worth. -----------------------------------------------------------------------

El Paso 8, Wichita 6

El Paso scored five runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 6-2 deficit and beat Wichita at Cohen Stadium. The victory by the Diablos was their fifth straight. El Paso was led offensively by 1B Walter Olmstead who continued his red hot start at the plate going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a RBI. RF Stantrel Smith and 2B Alex Derhak each chipped in with three hits as well for the Diablos. El Paso starter Josh Neitz picked up the victory with a six inning performance giving up six runs, only one earned, on seven hits and four strikeouts. Neitz is now 1-1 on the season. Wichita in the losing effort today turned a 5-4-3 triple play in the fourth inning.

Grand Prairie vs. Shreveport (Postponed - Rain)

The doubleheader scheduled between Grand Prairie and Shreveport was postponed due to rain and is rescheduled for Thursday beginning at 10:05 a.m.

Sioux Falls 5, Pensacola 3

The Sioux Falls Canaries improved to 4-2 on the season behind some solid pitching and timely hitting. Canaries starter Ryan Ford pitched well, allowing three runs, two earned, on nine hits in 6 1/3 innings, but did not factor in the decision. After the Pelicans tied the game at three in the seventh inning, Sioux Falls rallied with a run of its own to reclaim the lead. Canaries reliever Javier Garcia notched his first win of the season by tossing 1 2/3 scoreless innings and closer Kris Regas struck out two of the three hitters he faced in the ninth for his second save of the year. Sioux Falls 2B Josh Patton led the way at the plate. He was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
