
'Nuts bullpen can't hold lead

WICHITA, KS- The Wingnuts jumped out to a 6-2 lead but could not hold it, falling 8-6 at the El Paso Diablos on Wednesday.
Everything looked to be going Wichita's way when they pulled off a triple play in the bottom of the fourth inning to stay within a run. In the top of the fifth the Wingnuts sent 10 men to the plate, scoring five runs.
Starting pitcher Justin Young was pulled after five innings and relievers Dan Caldwell and Aaron Jenkins gave up a five-spot to El Paso in the sixth. The Diablos added a run in the eighth for the victory.
The Wingnuts, now 4-3 will close out their series in El Paso on Thursday at 8:05 p.m. central time, before heading to Grand Prairie in Friday for a three-game series with the Airhogs. The Wingnuts will return home on Monday to start a four-game series with the defending champion Fort Worth Cats. For tickets or more information call (316) 264-4625.
