ONE STREAK ENDS, ONE CONTINUES: Monday Myrtle Beach starter Joe Wieland saw his 22 and one-third inning scoreless innings streak end on a Tyler Saladino solo homer in the sixth. It's the longest stretch by a Pelican this year, passing Robbie Ross' season-opening 18-inning run. Despite giving up a run, he did not allow a walk for the fifth straight start. He was not issued a free pass in 32 and two-thirds innings, dating back to an April 18 start against Winston-Salem. The right-hander lowered his league-leading ERA to a paltry 1.62.

WE MEET AGAIN: Today's starters faced each other on April 20 in Myrtle Beach. Robbie Erlin and Andre Rienzo squared off in the series finale at BB&T Coastal Field. Erlin gave up four runs, three earned, on four hits in five innings. He walked one, hit two and struck out three. Rienzo only allowed two runs, one earned, in five innings. He scattered six hits, walked two and whiffed seven, and was in line for the win before the Birds battled back to tie the game against the bullpen. The Pelicans would go on to win 5-4 in 12 innings to finish the sweep of the Dash.

DASHING TO ANOTHER WIN: With Monday night's win the Pelicans have gone 4-0 against Winston-Salem in 2011. After starting last season with five losses to the Dash, Myrtle Beach has taken 13 of the last 19 meeting between the two clubs.
