Kinston Indians News Release

The Kinston Indians are featured in the June 2011 issue of Our State Magazine! The magazine is arriving to subscribers and is on store shelves now! The K-Tribe is featured in "Home Team", a photo essay written by Michael Graff and photographed by Peter Frank Edwards.

The magazine's website ( www.ourstate.com) describes the photo essay - "Before every pitch, the third baseman snatches a handful of dirt and rubs it between his fingers, the shortstop rocks his arms back and forth, the second baseman adjusts his belt, and the first baseman pulls off his hat and wipes his forehead. In baseball, the beauty is in the blanks, the moments when simple, quiet routines restore order to a game that can change with every lawless strike of a round ball on a round bat. In Kinston, the smallest city with a minor league team in the country, baseball is a habit that dates back nearly a century. Here in this eastern North Carolina town, there is fall, winter, spring, and baseball season. We look inside one day of Kinston Indians baseball, one routine after another."
