Kinston Indians News Release
First Round draft pick Drew Pomeranz takes the mound for Kinston tonight vs. Lynchburg. Game time 6:30 pm.
16 Again - Kinston outfielder Tyler Holt has found his offensive stride of late, riding a 17 game consecutive on-base streak, the second most in the Carolina League this year. Only Salem's Reynaldo Rodriguez with 21 has a longer streak. Over his last ten games Holt has hit .419 with 13 hits in 31 at bats. He is batting .333 in May and has boosted his average from .246 to .303 over the last 19 games. A 2011 OBP of .410 has Holt placed second in the Carolina League.
Offensive Toole - Justin Toole has been nearly impossible to stop since returning to Grainger Stadium. On the current home stand, Toole is batting .583 with four RBI. This season Toole is batting .381 with runners in scoring position and leads the team with 13 RBI.
