TODAY'S STARTING PITCHERS: RHP Ryne Reynoso will make his second start of the season for the Pelicans tonight against RHP Pedro Beato, also making his second start of the season for Frederick.

FANS FLOCK TO BB&T COASTAL: Last night at BB&T Coastal Field, the Pelicans played in front of the largest crowd in franchise history. The atmosphere was electric all night due to the sold-out crowd and the nature of the game. To help reign in the 2008 season, the Pelicans welcomed Myrtle Beach dignitaries that included Mayor John Rhodes. In addition, former CCU All-American Dustin Johnson was on-hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Johnson is currently playing professionally on the PGA Tour. Just prior to the first pitch, national recording artists The Bellamy Brothers sang the national anthem.

STREAKS AND SUCH: Tommy Hanson turned in another six scoreless innings on Wednesday night, and leads the Carolina League with no ERA in the most (11) innnings pitched. Pelicans' catcher Tyler Flowers has displayed a patient approach at the plate while reaching base safely in all seven Pelicans' contests this season. Flowers has walked a league-high 11 times through seven games, and despite a batting average of .280, he is currently fifth in the league in on-base percentage (.516). In addition, Gorkys Hernandez is now on a three game hitting streak.
