
Beato cruises in Keys' win

After four straight marathon one-run affairs, the Frederick Keys scored three runs in the fourth inning and rode the back of starting pitcher Pedro Beato to defeat Myrtle Beach 6-2 evening their series at a game apiece.
Beato was stellar, allowing just a run on three hits while setting down the Pelicans in order four times in six innings. He gave way to RHP Kyle Schmidt who worked three solid innings for the save.
Keys C Matt Wieters got Frederick off to a good start with a solo home run in the first inning. The drive was his third of the year as Wieters went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the game.
With the game tied at 1-1, The Keys plated three runs with four consecutive singles to lead 4-1.
The series concludes Sunday, April 13th at 3:00 p.m. in Myrtle Beach. Frederick heads home for Kids Eat Free Monday, April 14th against the Salem Avalanche at 7:00 p.m.
