Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release

FREDERICK, MD - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans catch Bundy fever this weekend at Harry Grove Stadium, facing the Baltimore Orioles top rated prospect in the series finale of a three game set at the Frederick Keys.

Bundy, a Carolina League all-star, will be making his fifth start with Frederick when he faces Myrtle Beach. The righty is 2-2 with a 4.34 ERA at class A-Advanced, allowing four runs in just three and two thirds innings against Lynchburg in his last outing.

The fourth overall pick in the 2011 Major League Baseball draft, Bundy is on a Major League contract and a member of the Orioles 40-man roster. He made his professional debut this year with Low-A Delmarva, not allowing a single earned run in eight starts.

Arguably Frederick's highest profile player since Matt Wieters in 2008, Bundy is rated the No. 7 overall prospect in baseball. He pitched the sixth inning in Tuesday's California-Carolina League All-Star Game, allowing one runner on a walk while striking out two. Bundy was roommates with Pelicans pitcher Randy Henry during the all-star break in Winston-Salem, NC.

Myrtle Beach, currently on a seven game roadtrip, returns home Thursday, June 28th, to face the Carolina Mudcats at 7:05pm. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call the box office at 843-918-6000 or visit MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.
