INF Mark DeRosa Rehabbing with Potomac Tonight

(WOODBRIDGE, VA) - The Washington Nationals have announced that INF Mark DeRosa will join the Potomac Nationals for a rehab assignment. DeRosa is starting at third and batting third for the P-Nats in tonight's game with the Winston-Salem Dash that starts at 7:05 PM at Pfitzner Stadium.

DeRosa, 37, has played in 15 major league seasons for seven teams including Washington. DeRosa is currently on the DL with a left oblique strain and was limited to just 13 games with Washington this year. Over 1,118 career games, DeRosa has hit .270 with 93 homers and 494 RBI. He made his big league debut with Atlanta on September 20, 1998 getting a pinch hit single against Florida. The Passaic, New Jersey native has made rehab appearances the last two seasons while with the San Francisco organization. He played with the Durham Bulls in 1997 when they were a Carolina League affiliate and his last appearance in the Carolina League was with Myrtle Beach during a rehab assignment in 2002. The Nationals signed DeRosa on December 28th, 2011.

DeRosa is wearing #37 for the Nationals. A new roster is attached.
