MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Sunday night's series finale between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Winston-Salem Dash at BB&T Coastal Field has been postponed due to rain. The two clubs will make up the game during their only remaining head-to-head series, which will be played in Winston-Salem August 26-28.

A steady rain hit the area at around 3:00 this afternoon and it carried into the evening, causing a delay from the scheduled start time of 6:05 p.m. After the rain continued to fall, the field was rendered unplayable for the evening and the postponement was announced at 7:35 p.m.

After a leaguewide off day on Monday, the Birds visit the Kinston Indians, losers of seven straight, for three games at Grainger Stadium starting Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. The Pelicans return to Myrtle Beach for a six-game homestand starting Friday, August 5 with the first of three against the resurgent Potomac Nationals. After the weekend set with the P-Nats, the Northern Division first-half champion Frederick Keys visit the Grand Strand Monday, August 8 to Wednesday, August 10.

Tickets for the postponed game on Sunday can be redeemed for admission to any 2011 regular season Pelicans game. Tickets for next week's homestand and all other Pelicans home games can be purchased by visiting the BB&T Coastal Field Box office, the Tickets page at MyrtleBeachPelicans.com, or by calling (843)918-6000 or (877)918-TIXX.
