Pensacola Pelicans News Release

(Macon, GA) --- The Pensacola Pelicans, after making a seven-hour bus trip, committed a season-high five errors in an 11-4 loss to the Macon Peaches Friday.

Pensacola jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, only for the Peaches to score four in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth and four in the seventh to increase their lead over the Houma Hawks to 1 ½ games for the fourth and final playoff spot.

In the top of the second inning, Blair Bourque singled before Michael Silva doubled. Jeremy Brostrom and Mark Ford grounded into fielder's choices to score them both. Nick Mockabee then singled to score Brostrom.

But from there, it was all Macon, who put the game away with four runs with two outs in the seventh.

The Pelicans added a run in the ninth when Brostrom singled and scored on a Mockabee groundout. Mockabee and Bourque had two hits in the loss.

Steve Crampton went 2 1/3 innings for the Pelicans, allowing nine hits and six runs.
