Sports Shutout Fort Worth, 6-0

The Shreveport Sports posted their eighth shutout of the season in defeating Ft. Worth 6-0 at Fair Grounds Field Saturday to take a 2-1 lead in the four game series.

It was a combined six hit shutout by the Sports Jason Slanina and Jason Moody. Slanina (6-3) pitched the first 6.1 innings and then Moody came in to close out the shutout.

The Sports took advantage of two Ft. Worth errors in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. Shreveport added a run in the fifth and scored two more in the seventh to move to within 2 ½ games of Ft. Worth in the battle of the wild card race in the second half of the Eastern Division of the Central League.

Shreveport and Ft. Worth will close out the four game series Sunday afternoon at Fair Grounds Field. Game time will be 4:05.
