Barrie Colts News Release
Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that forward Tanner Pearson has been selected to play in the 2012 CHL/NHL Home Hardware Top Prospects Game.
On Thursday the Ontario Hockey League announced the rosters for the game to be played in Kelowna, BC on February 1st.
Pearson is one of 40 players named to the Home Hardware Top Prospects Game and is one of just two that will compete in the game after playing for Team Canada at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship.
The Kitchener native is leading the OHL in scoring with an incredible 66 points in 30 games played and has a 16-point lead in the overall scoring race, despite missing the last two games while attending Team Canada's World Junior Selection Camp.
The 19-year old un-drafted winger played for Team OHL in both legs of the Subway Super Series and scored goals in each game.
Pearson will join teammate Mark Scheifele on Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championship beginning on Boxing Day.
