OHL Owen Sound Attack

Attack in Sarnia Tonight

December 16, 2011 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release

Attack @ Sarnia, 7:05pm: The Attack is fresh off a back and forth 6-4 win over the Windsor Spitfires and will travel to Sarnia this evening to take on the Sting. The Attack has won 2 in a row, while the Sting held a victory over Peterborough in their last contest. Both the Attack and Sting have 6 goal scorers in double digits, however; Jarrod Maidens will not dress tonight for the Attack. Sarnia sits 3 points ahead of the Attack for 4th place in the Western Conference, but do have 2 games in hand. Forward Michael Halmo is riding a 5 game point streak that has saw him collect 4 goals and 7 assists and vault him to 12th amongst OHL scoring leaders.

Look Out For: Nail Yakupov. This might seem like the easy and obvious choice and you'd be absolutely correct in saying that. The Russian forward has compiled 49 points in just 24 games after missing time with a lower body injury. The sniper makes everybody around him a better player and is one of the most dynamic players in the Canadian Hockey League. Yakupov is currently projected to be a top three pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and could go as high as 1st overall.

Last 10 Games: Sarnia (4-5-0-1) 4th in the Western Conference. Owen Sound (5-3-1-1) 5th in Western Conference

TV and Radio - Tonight's game can be heard live on Grey Motors Bear Radio with Fred Wallace on 560 CFOS and watched live on Rogers TV local channel 53.

The Attack is back in action at home on Saturday evening when The Home Depot presents the Attack vs. the Kitchener Rangers. Tickets are available at the Attack Box Office in the front lobby of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, online at www.attackhockey.com or by phone at (519) 371-7452. Game time is 7:30pm.
