PawSox Fall to the IronPigs, 7-3

Lehigh Valley evened the series up with a 7-3 win over the PawSox Saturday night at McCoy Stadium. Jose Iglesias led the PawSox with two hits. Prior to the game, PawSox President Mike Tamburro and MLB Hall of Famer Wade Boggs were officially inducted into the International League Hall of Fame.

In the first inning Iglesias scored on a wild pitch and gave the PawSox an early lead 1-0. Lehigh got on the board in the third inning after a 2-run homerun by Sebastian Valle and led the PawSox 2-1. The IronPigs added to their lead in the fourth with an RBI double by Steve Susdorf.

For the PawSox, a RBI triple by Jason Repko scored Reynaldo Rodriguez and made the score 3-2 then Iglesias followed with an RBI single to tie the game 3-3.

RBI double by Susdorf scored Pete Orr and gave Lehigh the lead 4-3 after six innings. Cody Overbeck had a 2-run double in the eighth that extended the IronPigs lead to 6-3. A single by Jason Pridie added another run for Lehigh, making it 7-3 in the ninth.

Nelson Figueroa took the loss for the PawSox. He gave up five hits and four runs in six innings. For Lehigh Valley, Jonathan Pettibone earned the win after giving up four hits and three runs in six innings.The series continues tomorrow at 1:05 pm at McCoy. Daisuke Matsuzaka (0-2,3.23) faces Tom Cochran (6-4, 4.63).
